The opportunity

Creates and implements inventory management strategies for bulk Activewear product that is required to sustain internal Value Added Service (VAS) production in relation to customer demand.

The role

  • Creates work orders for VAS production team and system transactions for inventory reserves
  • Reacts to fluctuations in customer demand by increasing/decreasing VAS production and bulk inventory supply to align with business environment
  • Investigates gaps between demand/supply for Activewear Retail styles, and prioritizes by account when temporary product resource limitations occur
  • Calculates frequency of product transfers from Wholesale DC and manufacturing facilities for logistics planning purposes
  • Coordinates with Corporate Planning to highlight production scheduling issues that impact VAS
  • Initiates, prioritizes and tracks product transfers
  • Determines ideal inventory levels for dotcom accounts and builds inventory levels to those parameters
  • Evaluates potential excess inventories considering forecast, seasonal trends, and DC capacity
  • Maintains and distributes availability projection reports to Sales and Customer Service
  • Reconciles receipts, shipments, and inventory at consignment accounts and 3PLs carrying Gildan and GoldToe Moretz/Private Label inventory
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs
  • This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

The requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 0-3 Years Relevant Experience
  • University degree preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Intermediate to advanced excel skills
  • Experience with a full-functional computerized Order Management System such as JDE, SAP or RedPrairie
  • Experience within a manufacturing company supplying product to Retail Customers preferred
  •  Inventory and/or Planning experience highly preferred
  •  Strong organization and prioritization skills needed
  •  Strong problem-solving skills
  •  Ability to assimilate information rapidly and effectively
  • Must be able to work independently and to self-manage coordination duties
  • Must be able to work in a team-based environment
  • Vision required to operate keyboard, complete required data entry, and examine inventory data
  • Hearing and verbal communication required to provide instruction and communicate with multiple sources
