The opportunity

Responsible for preparation and implementation of plant safety programs. Performs analysis of injuries and lost-time accidents with focus on reduction/avoidance of injuries. Prepares safety documentation for reporting to state and federal agencies. Conducts and ensures all applicable safety training programs for plant is maintained as outlined by company and OSHA regulations.
This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution team. 

The role

  • Prepares and conducts plant safety training programs. Performs compliance audits, random inspections and program reviews. Inputs and controls records on these tasks.
  • Inputs and provides management with documentation and analysis of safety incidents and recordable injuries while developing action plans to reduce any future incidents.
  • Performs and prepares documentation for reporting to state and federal agencies in collaboration with corporate Safety & Compliance management. Inputs and tracks accidents and incidents. Documentation will consist of the OSHA 300 and 300A Logs. Various software will be used.
  • Communication to the HR Management and DC Management of health-related issues that may affect the DC workforce and its environment. Keeps up with Workers Comp entries and follows-up on all cases as incidents at assigned facilities.  
  • Accompanies employees to W/C appointments when needed and works with local medical group to ensure they receive best medical treatment available. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs. 

The responsibility

  • University Degree
  • 0-3 Years Relevant Experience 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogen certification and accreditation preferred
  • Experience in safety related field within manufacturing and office area environments
  • Knowledge of safety related topics including but not limited to: Arc Flash, Haz-Com/SDS, Blood Borne Pathogens, Emergency Evacuation, Workplace Violence, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills needed
  • Able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Able to assimilate information rapidly and effectively
  • Must be able to work independently and to self-manage coordination duties
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Able to present information to multi-level associates during training presentations
  • Able to work in confidential environment 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively
  • Experience within a manufacturing company supplying product to Retail Customers preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically on occasional basis
  • Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings
  • Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics
