The opportunity

Responsible for the maintenance of a consistently accurate inventory.  Manages a team of cycle counters and/or inventory clerks & provides support to VAS area (site specific) by analyzing and comparing monthly Forecasting data against on-hand inventory.  Directs the site’s cycle count process(es), manages inventory adjustments, inventory reporting and is dedicated to process improvement initiatives. This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

The role

• Investigates gaps between demand and supply for Activewear product lines (Retail styles, etc.).
• Creates, updates and distributes reports as needed to DC Management, Sales and Customer Service teams.
• Coordinates with Corporate Planning to highlight production scheduling issues that impact Value Added Services (VAS) – where applicable.  
• Initiates, prioritizes and tracks transfers.
• Creates, releases and maintains system transactions.
• Manages consignment accounts, including reconciliation of receipts and shipments, and distribution of weekly inventory account status.
• Provides administrative support for management of 3PL local and/or remote facilities carrying Gildan inventory.
• Drives change to support adherence to LEAN/process improvement processes.
• Ability to effectively lead a team of direct reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

The requirements

• High School Diploma
• 5+ Years Relevant Experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience with a full-functional computerized Order Management System such as JDE, SAP, or Manhattan-WMS
• Strong organization and prioritization skills needed
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to assimilate information rapidly and effectively
• Must be able to work independently and to self-manage coordination duties
• Ability to work in a team-based environment
• Experience within a light duty manufacturing company supplying product to Retail & Wholesale customers preferred
• Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics.
• Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings.
