The opportunity

Responsible to lead quality process for Eden Distribution Center, assuring quality management system, characteristics, objectives and initiatives are executed aligned to global quality strategy and business objectives.

 

The role

  • Meet the Gildan quality system (GQS) requirements.
    • Understanding by quality system: Documentation, work method, and internal and external customer expectations related to a process, product or service.
  • Execute and make sure the dispositions of Environment, Health and Safety are being complied.
  • Develop continuous training guidelines for Eden DC Quality Team to define clear specification to process and product needs.
  • Generate and monitor quality reports for Eden DC to review performance indicators and highlights of priorities.
  • Define and execute action plans to align process and characteristics to meet defined targets and standards.
  • Contribute to Eden DC Management’s overall strategic operational plans in order to support with a quality plan to meet monthly and yearly results.
  • Develop quality procedures, guidelines and other documents to communicate quality specifications, strategy and objectives such as quality specifications for DC auditing purposes.
  • Report Customer complaints into Global Customer complaint site/management.
  • Communicate to Global Quality team continuously to escalate any high priority based on any quality complaint returned to Eden DC.
  • Keep up to date any Product specifications, reports of plant performance, customer contacts and information, corporate processes and procedures, employee information.
  • Reach out to customers on product performance issues reported to Eden when needed in collaboration with Customer Reps and Global Quality team
  • Assess and provide feedback to resolve the issue with the customer and coordinate with manufacturing to address product and quality issues.
  • Provide direct supervision and support to the Returns Lead.
  • Coordinate and assure replacement of goods conforming to quality and product specification to avoid a second complaint on any returned inventory.
  • Oversee incoming audit to goods at Eden DC as defined or required to follow up on any quality characteristics to assure inventory consistency.
  • Provide feedback, quality alerts, and reporting to manufacturing, sales, marketing, and management for customer product issues and inquires. Follow up to ensure that corrective actions are put in place by manufacturing.
  • Oversee the daily operations of Quality department including contract rework and/or storage, embellishment programs, and “odds” inventory.
  • Maintain log with daily follow-up features.
  • Provide data support to Global Quality team and Quality Assurance Manager direct supervisor.
  • Special projects as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager and/or Global Quality team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs

The requirement

  •  Industrial Engineer, Business Administration or similar career preferred
  • Additional Quality education is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish, English) preferably but not required
  • +5 Years, preferably experience managing personnel
  • Apparel industry experience (Activewear ideally)
  • Printwear experience and knowledge
  • Experience troubleshooting screen printing issues
  • Quality Assurance management experience
  • Highly skilled with Ms Office packs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Able to create High Impact PowerPoint presentations).
