The opportunity

Responsible for the direction and performance of pricing, product costs, item set-up and margin analysis and reporting.  Responsible for the global dynamic strategic pricing framework and supporting processes and policies that drive optimal revenue growth for Gildan within printwear and retail categories.  The role is critical in developing appropriate pricing strategies for new and existing products to generate increased revenue, market share, and profit.  This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution team.

The role

  • Directs the internal SMD pricing group for establishing dynamic pricing strategy and ensuring sales and margin goals are hit and maintained.
  • Partner with Manufacturing to understand cost drivers and ensure competitive costing of all product lines.
  • Leads process to ensure all product costs are complete and accurate from sourced suppliers and manufacturing.
  • Leads team to set initial price parameters for customer presentations or seasonal lines for SMD in coordination with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Finance.  
  • Oversees documentation and approval process for all printwear and retail pricing. 
  • Works with Merchandising and Design on products being developed to make sure they are within price points required.
  • Advises sourced suppliers and manufacturing of target FOB pricing for products being developed.
  • Responsible for all SMD customer system item set up.
  • Uses extensive industry knowledge to anticipate financial trends and advise on potential impact of trends on business performance and to propose pricing scenarios.
  • Directs and implements a variety of analytical approaches and modeling to drive industry leading pricing analytics to be competitive and build effective strategies for margin and market share gain.  
  • Tracks and analyzes competitor pricing data.
  • Creates dynamic dashboards/tools to track sales performance vs forecast.  
  • Builds and manages ongoing cross brand governance/guardrails for product list prices by market.
  • Analyzes product performance across regions and channels to inform Merchandising and Sales teams on challenges and opportunities for future seasons product creation and financial plans. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

The requirement

  • University Degree and at least 15 years of relevant and managerial experience
  • Bachelors degree required with Accounting or Finance degree area of focus preferred.
  • Extensive financial background with product pricing and/or costing experience with history of revenue growth strategy required. Apparel industry experience preferred.
  • Industry experience, specifically manufactured products sold to similar retailers or distributors required.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to build organizational processes, develop strategy and drive execution.
  • Previous experience leading a change management agenda around processes and tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Etc.)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-based environment.
  • High level of organization is required
  • Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data and formulate metrics.
  • Hearing is required in order to hear instructions, receive information, and understand safety warnings.
  • Frequent international and domestic travel required
  • Valid Passport required
