The opportunity

Manages the development of design blocks for the Global Lifestyle brands.

 

The role

  • Serves as liaison between customer and Central American development teams.  Manages communications to ensure effective process flow, consistent timeliness, and alignment of goals.
  • Acts as company's subject matter expert regarding customer policies, organizational structure, KPI's, terminologies, performance standards, testing requirements, cost history, margin analysis, seasonal development calendars, project management calendars, customer PLM systems, fabric data worksheets, sample headers, lab dip submits, etc. in order to effectively manage, drive and communicate business development initiatives.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to address business short and long-term issues and needs.  Creates and/or utilizes tools to effectively share information.
  • Partners with Product Development and Sales management and other internal support groups to align business needs, determine feasibility of new development requests, discuss account status, approve action items, etc.
  • Leads regular and routine communication efforts with appropriate parties to discuss open issues, status updates, concerns, etc. as needed.  Responsible for development and problem resolution activities between customer and company.
  • Provides customers with insight into the development process and offers creative solutions to convey proactive initiatives regarding timelines and goals.
  • Organizes and leads initiatives required to engage stakeholders in the development of costs new fabrics, colors, and silhouettes.  Provides critical data needed to plan for new product introductions.
  • Collects feedback and questions from stakeholders on seasonal calendars, clarifies customer requirements, provides status update summaries, resolves pending issues, sets action items, and ensures effective communication and clear direction to all parties.
  • Oversees account costing and indicative costing exercises and margin analysis for the Global Lifestyle Brand (GLB) accounts.
  • Interacts with people at all levels of the organization and provides reports and product details as needed.
  • Oversees forecasting for sustainable cotton consumption credits.
  • Maintains accurate information in SharePoint system for style tracking.
  • Develops and maintains a product development file system and library.
  • Uses seasonal item set-up records for new product launches.
  • Assists with the development of presentations and reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs

The requirement

  • University Degree and 10 years+ of experience 
  • Knitwear product development and manufacturing experience required.
  •  Experience in cut-and-sew activewear preferred
  • Knowledge of activewear manufacturing and construction required
  • Must be proficient with reading and understanding product and fabric cost sheets
  • Basic understanding of knitting and finishing equipment required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  •  Advanced knowledge in customer's computer systems including PLM and digital manuals
  • Able to work in both office and manufacturing environments
  • Able to work with cross functional areas and establish communication networks to propel projects
  • Experience with SharePoint a plus
  • Attention to detail of individual projects within a program objective
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong organization, follow-up, and priority management skill
  • Schedule flexibility and calmness during changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
